On Tuesday night, Manitoba scored four times in the first period and Jason Jaffray and Alexandre Burrows finished with three points each as the Moose downed Syracuse, 5-2.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Hartford takes on Manchester at the Hartford Civic Center tonight (7:00 ET) for the fifth time this season... The home team has won each of the first four meetings, with the Wolf Pack earning a 4-3 decision on Oct. 8, and the Monarchs winning the last three either in overtime or via shootout... Hartford comes in without a regulation loss in its last eight (5-0-1-2), while Manchester has lost three of four, but still sits tied for first in the Atlantic Division... The Monarchs' Connor James has three goals and two assists in four games against Hartford, and five points in his last five games overall... Rookie Al Montoya, back from a broken finger, is 5-1-0 in goal for the Wolf Pack this season.

Milwaukee takes the best points percentage in the Western Conference (.708) into the Omaha Civic Auditorium to face the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights tonight (7:00 CT)... The Admirals are six points back of Houston with five games in hand in the West Division, and are 16-3-1-0 in their last 20 games... Milwaukee is without goaltender Brian Finley, who made his first NHL start for Nashville on Tuesday, but Pekka Rinne is third in the AHL with his 2.15 goals-against average... Defenseman Justin Taylor has recorded a point in four straight games for the Knights (2g, 2a)... Milwaukee ranks second in the AHL in defense, allowing 2.21 goals per game; Omaha is fifth (2.75).

Grand Rapids and Toronto face off at Ricoh Coliseum tonight (7:30 ET), the first of four road games against North Division opponents for the Griffins this week... Grand Rapids comes into play three points out of first place in the North (with four games in hand on Manitoba), while the Marlies are two points behind fourth-place Syracuse... Jiri Hudler, second in the AHL in scoring, has been bouncing between Grand Rapids and the parent Detroit Red Wings, and will play his ninth game in 14 days tonight... Valtteri Filppula had three points in the teams' first meeting, a 3-1 Griffins win on Nov. 20... John Pohl continues to lead the Marlies with 14 goals and 26 points this season... Jean-Sebastien Aubin stopped 60 of 63 shots in his two weekend appearances for Toronto, then served as Mikael Tellqvist's back-up for the Maple Leafs on Monday.
