ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (13-12) stay hot on offense, defeating the Stockton Kings (15-11), 135-116, with help from a career night from Mfiondu Kabengele.
Kabengele, on assignment from the Los Angeles Clippers, dropped a career-high 38 points on an efficient 14-for-20 shooting from the field and added 14 rebounds to complete the double-double.
The Clippers took the early advantage, leading by as much as 12 in the first half, but the Kings closed the gap before the half and, building off their momentum, took a 54-53 lead early in the third quarter. Agua Caliente responded with a 21-10 run to regain a double-digit advantage and would lead by as much as 24 on their way to the finish line.
Johnathan Motley added 27 points for the Clippers while Terance Mann, also on assignment from the NBA club, contributed with a double-double of 10 points and 11 assists.
Stockton was paced by Isaiah Canaan's 32 points off the bench.
The Clippers head to Salt Lake City on Wednesday January 22 to take on the Salt Lake City Stars in their third meeting of the season, with the two teams splitting the first two matchups. The ballgame is slated to tip-off at 6 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
