Erie BayHawks News Release

ERIE, PA - The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, and UPMC Health Plan will honor those affected by breast cancer during the team's game on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. versus the Canton Charge with their first annual "Slam Dunk Breast Cancer" game.

Special recognition will be given to ten (10) breast cancer fighters or survivors whose names are randomly selected through an online contest on GoErie.com. In order to be selected, family members or friends must register and submit the name and photo of the person they wish to commemorate, along with a short description about the fighter or survivor in their life.

The contest which can be found at www.goerie.com/contests will run for three weeks, ending on February 7. Those selected will receive tickets to the "Slam Dunk Breast Cancer" game, a customized official BayHawks jersey, and will earn special recognition during the game.

The BayHawks will also wear commemorative uniforms that feature a pink, white and black design, with a ribbon encompassing the entire front of the jersey, and will be auctioned during the game with all proceeds benefitting Linked by Pink. Started in 2008, Linked by Pink has been offering support for the Erie community, increasing awareness on breast cancer while raising funds to provide support for local patients and their families.
