Clippers Fall To Cruise For First Home Loss

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (6-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, fall to Motor City Cruise (2-7), 106-93, on Monday night for their first loss of the regular season.

Jason Preston led the Clippers with 21 points on 9-19 FGM (5-8 3PM). Xavier Moon added 14 points (6-16 FGM) and seven rebounds.

The Cruise were led by Keifer Sykes' game-high 27 points on 9-16 FGM (5-8 3PM). Jaime Echenique (20 points, 10 rebounds) and David Nwaba (15 points, 12 rebounds) each recorded double doubles in the victory.

The Clippers opened the game strong, taking a 10-point advantage into the second quarter, but Motor City took control the rest of the way. After outshooting the Clippers 60 percent (12-20 FGM, 6-8 3PM) to 33.3 percent (8-24 FGM, 3-9 3PM) in the second quarter, the Cruise headed into the break with a 57-52 lead. They finished the game shooting 52.1 percent (38-73 FGM) to Ontario's 38.4 percent (38-99 FGM).

Next up, the Clippers hit the road to take on the Austin Spurs on Friday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm PST inside the H-E-B Center.
