January 17, 2023 - NBA G League (G League) News Release


RELIABLE REGGIE: Raptors 905 forward Reggie Perry was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 9 through Sunday, Jan. 15. The NBA veteran averaged 29.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals in four games this week, leading the 905 to a 3-1 record.

Perry posted back-to-back 30-point games, scoring 37 against the Capital City Go-Go and 34 in a win over the Motor City Cruise. The 905 and Perry return to action Saturday, Jan. 21 when they visit the Wisconsin Herd at 8 p.m.

ONTARIO O-NEDERS: Behind the strong play of LA Clippers assignee Brandon Boston Jr. and guard Xavier Moon, the Ontario Clippers have won four of their last five games, continuing their success after winning this year's Showcase Cup Championship. At 6-4 this regular season, On- tario finds themselves climbing the Western Conference standings. Boston Jr., Moon and the Clippers go on the road for back-to-back games with the Austin Spurs on Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21 on NBAGLeague.com.

IT'S GOOD TO BE A KING: At 8-1, the Stockton Kings remain one of the hottest teams in the league and sit atop the G League standings. Stockton has seen contributions from all over its roster with eight players averaging double figures in point per game led by Sacramento Two-Ways Neemias Queta (18.2) and Keon Ellis (16.6). The Kings and their league-leading three-point shooting percentage (41.0) meet the Oklahoma City Blue at the Paycom Center on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. ET on NBAGLeague.com. Taking place during 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, UT, the NBA G League Next Up Game will feature 24 of the top NBA G League players from across the league. Fans can vote for their favorite NBA G League players at GLeague.nba.com/vote until Friday, Feb. 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Two captains will be selected from the pool of 24 players, who will each draft a team of 12. The player who receives the most fan votes will captain one team while a player from NBA G League Ignite will lead the other. The NBA G League Next Up Game will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. ET at the Jon M. Huntsman Center and will air live on NBA TV.

Houston Rockets assignee TyTy Washington Jr. set a new Rio Grande Valley Vipers record for points in a game with 53 in their Jan. 13 defeat to the Stockton Kings. His 53 points were the most scored by a player in the G League since Morris Almond poured in 53 points for the Utah Flash on Jan. 30, 2008, against the Bakersfield Jam.

Sioux Falls Skyforce guard D.J. Stewart scored a career-high 41 points in his team's 129-110 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors on Jan. 13.

Reigning NBA G League Player of the Month Mason Jones scored 39 points to lead his Mexico City Capitanes past the Austin Spurs, 127-125, on Jan. 13.

Isaiah Whaley recorded the game-winning basket in the Greensboro Swarm's 136-133 OT win against the Lakeland Magic on Jan. 13. Whaley finished the contest with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
