
Ignite Loses to Mad Ants Despite Late-Game Rally

HENDERSON, Nev. - NBA G League Ignite (5-6) closes its seven-game homestand with a loss to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (5-3), 121-114, on Tuesday night at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.
Ignite was led by John Jenkins for the third consecutive game after finishing with a stat line of 26 points, four assists, and two rebounds on 10-of-15 shots from the field, including 3-of-7 from the three-point line. Scoot Henderson followed with 22 points and seven assists, while Sidy Cissoko posted 20 points and four rebounds on 8-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc.
Gabe York led the Mad Ants with a game-high 38 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jermaine Samuels Jr. and Tevin Brown scored 18 apiece, while Justin Anderson and David Stockton each added 17 points.
After taking its largest deficit, 21, Ignite climbed back into the game by using a 19-2 run to cut the lead to four with a little under four minutes remaining in the second quarter. Ignite caught fire in the frame, led by John Jenkins and Scoot Henderson, who scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, in that span. As a team, Ignite shot 57.9 percent from the field and 75 percent from the three-point line in the quarter.
In the third quarter, the Mad Ants took control of the game and extended its lead to 20 points. Gabe York poured 12 of his 38 points in the frame to help give the Mad Ants an 18-point advantage heading into the final period. Down by 19 points with under eight minutes remaining in regulation, Ignite scored 11 consecutive points to cut its deficit to eight late in the game. Despite the late run, the Mad Ants held on to the lead to hand Ignite its third straight loss.
