Vipers Close Road Trip With Win Over Birmingham

Birmingham, Ala. - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (3-6), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, defeated the Birmingham Squadron (1-10) 132-105 on Tuesday night at Legacy Arena.

Since the beginning of the game the Vipers offense went on a hot-scoring-streak and took control of the first quarter. RGV managed to maintain its lead throughout the remainder of the game and earned a 132-105 victory over the Squadron.

Houston Rockets Two-Way player Darius Days led the Vipers with a double-double 29 points and 10 rebounds. Cassius Stanley and Jalen Lecque each contributed 23 points to the team. Houston Rockets Two-Way player Trevor Hudgins posted 22 points followed by Kahlil Whitney with 10 points.

Birmingham was led by Daeqwon Plowden who scored 24 points. New Orleans Pelicans Two-Way player Dereon Seabron finished the night with 17 points followed by Kalob Ledoux with 14 points and John Petty Jr. with 13 points. Zylan Cheatham finished with 11 rebounds.

The Vipers return to the RGV to take on the G League Ignite for back-to-back matchups on Friday Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21 with both games tipping off at 7:30 p.m. CT at Bert Ogden Arena. For more information visit www.rgvipers.com.
