
Cleveland Assigns Pair of Big Forwards

Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Icemen, proud affiliate of the NHL Winnipeg Jets and AHL Manitoba Moose, today announced the assignment of Sam Vigneault and Kole Sherwood from the AHL Cleveland Monsters.
Vigneault, 23, is entering his second pro season. The 6-foot-5, 203-pound forward joined the Monsters at the end of the 2016-2017 season following three years with Clarkson University (NCAA) where he recorded 75 points (30G, 45A) in 106 games. In his rookie campaign last season, the Baie-Comeau, Quebec native notched 22 points (9G, 13A) in 56 games with Cleveland. This season, he's seen action in 13 games with two assists.
Sherwood, 21, is a homegrown Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL) prospect from New Albany, OH. The 6-foot-1, 203-pound forward has played for both the bantam and under-16 Ohio Blue Jackets before heading to juniors in the OHL where he recorded 179 points (75G, 104A) in 180 games. Sherwood is in his rookie campaign with Cleveland having recorded one goal in eight games.
Vigneault and Sherwood join the Icemen in the midst of a busy holiday home stand with three games in the next four days. Tonight Jacksonville welcomes expansion team the Newfoundland Growlers at 7:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Arena.
