TONIGHT: The Orlando Solar Bears (8-5-2-0) return home following a five-game stretch on the road to face the South Carolina Stingrays (8-8-0-0) for the fourth of 11 meetings this season. Orlando is 2-1-0-0 against South Carolina this season. The Stingrays are coming off a 3-2 loss at Jacksonville last night.
LeBLANC COMING OFF BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE: After starting the season off with one assist through his first 11 games, second-year forward Chris LeBlanc has started to find his stride. The Winthrop, Massachusetts native came alive offensively last week during the team's four-game swing through New England, as he led Orlando with five points (1g-4a) and a +4 for the week. LeBlanc enjoyed a career-high three-point performance in front of family and friends in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win at Worcester.
TAMMELA TO MAKE SOLAR BEARS DEBUT: Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Jonne Tammela is expected to dress in tonight's game, making his Solar Bears debut after his reassignment from the Syracuse Crunch earlier this week. The forward had three points (2g-1a) in eight games with the Crunch this season. Tammela will skate on a line with Chris LeBlanc and Dylan Fitze.
DONAGHEY QUARTERBACKING POWER PLAY: Defenseman Cody Donaghey has arguably been Orlando's biggest offensive factor on the man advantage. The second-year pro leads the Solar Bears with six power-play points, all of which are assists. The team's single-season record for power-play assists by a defenseman is 13, set by Mike Wilson during the 2012-13 campaign.
NEXT GAMES: The team will host Kids Weekend, presented by First Watch, as the Solar Bears welcome the Newfoundland Growlers to Orlando for the first time on Friday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. Friday's game features Marvel Superhero Night, in which the Solar Bears will wear specialty Black Panther jerseys, and on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. the team battles Newfoundland again as part of Star Wars Night.
