Clemons and Westbrook Pick up Hits in Loss

The Toledo Mud Hens dropped their first game in over a week to the Louisville Bats at Louisville Slugger Field on Saturday night by a score of 7-1.

The Mud Hens scraped across 2 hits and an RBI on the offensive side of the ball. Kody Clemens put the Hens in the hit column with 2 outs in the first innings. The Hens would go quiet until Zack Short scored on a Jamie Westbrook groundout in the fourth inning for the lone Hens score. Westbrook would pick up the other Hens hit in the ninth inning.

All four of the Mud Hens pitchers tonight pitched at least one full inning. Angel De Jesus led that category by pitching the final 2 innings in relief. De Jesus and Drew Carlton combined for 3 shutout innings of relief. Carlton pitched 1 inning, allowing one hit and striking out one batter, De Jesus did not allow a hit in his 2 innings, but did walk one batter and struck out three batters.

What's Next: The Mud Hens look to bounce back and get back into the win column in their final game in Louisville for the season. First pitch between the Mud Hens and Bats at Louisville Slugger Field will be at 1:05 p.m.
