BROOKLYN, NY - Zach Ashford had two hits and two RBIs and Brooklyn topped the BlueClaws 7-4 on Friday night at Maimonides Park.

Jersey Shore (55-61) and Brooklyn (47-69) have split the first four games in their season-concluding six game series in New York.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning off starter Julian Garcia (0-1). Jose Peroza doubled in a run to open the scoring while Luke Ritter added a SAC fly and Zach Ashford followed with an RBI single.

Brooklyn added to their lead with three unearned runs in the fifth.

Jersey Shore began to inch back in the game in the sixth inning. Herbert Iser tripled in Nicolas Torres and then DJ Stewart doubled home Iser to cut the lead to 6-3.

Nic Gaddis, however, added an RBI double in the seventh to put Brooklyn up 7-3. Torres, who has hit safely in all but two of the 25 games he's played with the BlueClaws, singled home a run in the eighth for the final margin.

Jose Chacin (3-1) gave up three runs in six innings to earn the win. Garcia was charged with three runs in four innings of work. Hunter Parsons threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his second save.

DJ Stewart and Jonathan Guzman each had two hits for Jersey Shore.

The teams have two more games left in the season and will play Saturday at 4:05 pm.
