Kamloops Blazers News Release

KAMLOOPS, BC - Kamloops Blazer Head Coach Dean Clark became the 12th coach in WHL history to record 300 regular season wins on Saturday as the Blazers edged the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-3 at Sport Mart Place.

Clark, 40, is with his third WHL team, and 8th WHL season, after starting with the Calgary Hitmen in 1996-97 then taking over behind the bench of the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2001-02. Clark joined the Blazers in the summer of 2003.

He is the only coach in the 300-win club with less than 10 seasons of coaching experience.

Clark, originally from Edmonton, AB, has picked up 23 of his wins with the Blazers, another 84 with the Wheat Kings, and 193 with the Hitmen. Clark is also one of just six men who have coached 100 WHL playoff games and is 5th all-time in post-season victories with 60.

The Kamloops Blazer organization would like to congratulate Dean on this tremendous accomplishment.
