Kamloops Blazers News Release

The guys picked up a split in their two home games on the weekend. They dropped a 2-1 decision to the Giants on Friday then rebounded for a gritty 4-3 win over Medicine Hat on Saturday.

Friday was still kind of listless, even though it was a dramatic improvement over Sunday's 4-0 loss to Portland. Saturday's game, though, was tremendous! Great passion, lots of hustle, genuine excitment...and the fans made a bunch of noise, too! It was a great night to be at the rink!

By the way, Dean Clark picked up career coaching win number 300 on Saturday night! Congrats, Dean!

It's another big week for the guys...three games in five nights starting tomorrow in Prince George. The Blazers lead PG by just 8 points in the BC Division...and the Cougars are in 5th place. Boy, whoever makes the playoffs this season will certainly have to earn it!!

On Thursday, it's back on the bus to head to the states...for a visit to Tri-Cities and our first visit to Everett this season. These two teams are atop the US Division...so the guys have their work cut out for them again!

This has been a very interesting year around here for many reasons...and with all that's gone on, there are also a lot of rumours circulating. Two of the more laughable I've heard are the ones that say the team will either not be able to finish out the season or not be around for next year at all.

I can't begin to say just how false those rumours are.

This is a team that, with continued support, will be around for a long, long time. This is a team that is certainly going through some challenging transitions, but these changes will only help to make the organization stronger.

So, don't worry...we'll be back...

Our next school visit is coming up on Wednesday, February 4th when the guys head off to A.E. Perry Elementary from 10:30am to 1pm.

I'm going to keep this one short since we have a game tomorrow night and I have a bus to catch in about 2 hours...AND I'M NOT EVEN PACKED!!!

Tune us in on the road this week...and GO BLAZERS!

See ya later!

Kirk
