
Civale Works 2 Scoreless Innings, Ducks Fall to Senators, 2-1 in 10

Cleveland Indians right-hander Aaron Civale pitched two scoreless innings in a rehab start, and left-hander Konnor Pilkington tossed five shutout frames, but the Harrisburg Senators came from behind to defeat the Akron RubberDucks 2-1 in 10 innings in a six-game series finale on Sunday afternoon at Canal Park.
Turning Point
In top of the 10th, Senators catcher Brady Lindsly hit a one-out single into right field to score Osvaldo Duarte to give Harrisburg the 2-1 lead, its first of the day.
Mound Presence
Civale rebounded quickly from a leadoff walk, striking out the last two batters in the first inning with a runner at third base. He retired six in a row before walking the first batter of the third. He departed after 39 pitches. Skylar Arias finished out the third inning by getting a fielder's choice and inning-ending double play. Konnor Pilkington was terrific in his first relief outing of the season, tossing five scoreless innings and striking out four. Nic Enright allowed a game-tying solo home run in the top of the ninth to Harrisburg center fielder Cole Freeman. Thomas Ponticelli allowed the unearned run in the 10th.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the eighth, when Ike Freeman reached on an error, went to second base on a passed ball, and scored on Brayan Rocchio's two-out RBI single to right field. The RubberDucks left six runners on base and went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position, including 0-for-3 in the 10th inning with the tying run in scoring position.
Notebook
Clark Scolamiero (six games) and Jonathan Engelmann (nine games) each had their season-long hitting streaks snapped...The loss pushes the RubberDucks to a game under .500 on Sundays (6-7)...The loss marks the first time this season that the RubberDucks split a six-game series...Game Time: 2:50...Attendance: 3,815.
