Chukars Lose Game One at Home

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - The Chukars squared off against the team with the best record in the Pioneer League, the Missoula Paddleheads on Tuesday evening.

Tyler Wyatt got the start for Idaho Falls, while Alfredo Villa would start for the Paddleheads.

Missoula got the scoring started in the top of the second inning by scoring four in the frame. Austin Bernard hit a three run home run, which was later followed by an RBI double from McClain O'Conner.

The Chukars got two runs of their own back thank to a 2-RBI Double from Trevor Halsema in the bottom of the third.

Missoula would continue to score 2 in the fourth, three in the sixth, and five in the seventh. Idaho Falls answered back with five of their own in the bottom of the seventh. Mark Herron Jr hit an RBI single, Robb Paller worked a bases loaded walk, Hunter Hudson hit a two-RBI double, and it was finished off with a sacrifice fly from Brandon Bohning. Ultimately it wasn't enough, as Idaho Falls would lose this game by a score of 14-7.

Alfredo Villa fanned 12 Chukars on his way to a win. Ultimately he would pitch six innings of two-run ball against Idaho Falls.

Sam Troyer and Trevor Halsema both had fantastic days at the plate, but they didn't have enough help to win the game. Troyer went 3-5 for the second game in a row, while Halsema reached base all five times he came up to the plate. He ultimately finished by going 4-4 with a walk, two RBI's, and a run scored.

The Chukars and Paddleheads play game two of their six game set on Wednesday evening at Melaleuca Field. It's "Potato Night" at the ballpark, where the Chukars will be donning their Special Spud Kings Uniforms. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
