Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies have announced the hiring of Chuck Weber as the team's Assistant Coach and Assistant Director of Hockey Operations.
Weber served the past two seasons as the Assistant Coach and Assistant Director of Hockey Operations for the ECHL's Augusta Lynx. Prior to Augusta, he spent time as an Assistant with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, the IHL's Orlando Solar Bears, and the Trenton Titans in the ECHL.
*Chuck has a great deal of experience in the AHL and the ECHL; he also is very familiar with the ECHL. Having him on board will be a tremendous benefit for our hockey club,* said Grizzlies Head Coach Jason Christie.
*Jason (Christie) has a phenomenal reputation for winning and Utah has built a great fan base over the years; so the two combinations should complement each other well,* said Weber a resident of Lockport, New York.
Weber played collegiate hockey and soccer at the University of Albany (New York). In 2001, he won a Turner Cup Championship as a member of the Orlando Solar Bears coaching staff.
The Utah Grizzlies open their inaugural season in the ECHL Friday, October 21 at The E-Center in West Valley City against Las Vegas. Lower Bowl Season Ticket packages are on sale starting as low as $360. For more information call (801) 988-PUCK.
