
Bertoli and Pittman Re-sign With Titans

TRENTON, NJ (August 11, 2005) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with veteran left wing Scott Bertoli and center Chris Pittman for the 2005-06 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bertoli, 28 returns to the ice for his seventh professional season after finishing ninth in the ECHL with 68 points (27g, 41a) in 70 regular season games during 2004-05. Bertoli also tied for the postseason lead in scoring with 24 points (6g, 18a) to help lead the Titans to their first Kelly Cup Championship.
A member of the Titans since their inaugural season in 1999-2000, Bertoli is Trenton's all-time leader for games played (439), goals (145), assists (296) and points (441). The sixth-year pro also helped the Titans to the Brabham Cup and Kelly Cup Finals in 2001.
A native of Milton, Ontario, Bertoli was a four-year letterman at Princeton University. He recorded 118 points (41g-77a) in 130 games and led the Tigers to their first ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 1997-98.
Pittman, 28, was acquired on December 27, 2003 from the Columbia Inferno in an exchange for future considerations, later named as defenseman PJ Martin. Pittman immediately stepped onto the Titans top line and contributed 16 goals and 26 assists in 46 games. Last season, the fifth-year pro was limited to action in one match after breaking his shoulder during Trenton's season-opening game.
Hailing from Stephenville, Newfoundland, Pittman has compiled 64 goals, 86 assists and 348 PIM in 215 ECHL games. He was also a 10th round pick of the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
