July 6, 2019 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
El Paso - The El Paso Chihuahuas announced today the details of the 2019 Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Triple-A All-Star Game and Jarritos Triple-A Home Run Derby, including an All-Star Autograph session. The derby kicks off three days of festivities during Minor League Baseball's premier event hosted by the El Paso Chihuahuas. The derby is on Monday, July 8 and the Triple-A All-Star Game is on Wednesday, July 10 at Southwest University Park.
Monday's All-Star autograph session will begin at 6 p.m. when gates open and conclude at 7 p.m. Included are the participants who will play in Wednesday's RMHC All-Star Game. Autographs are on a first come first served basis and there are no guarantees of player availability.
The Jarritos Triple-A Home Run Derby opens with the RMHC Around the Horn Youth Baseball Skills Challenge. The challenge will include youth baseball and softball teams that will participate in a fielding challenge.
The Jarritos Triple-A Home Run Derby is slated to begin at the conclusion of the RMHC Around the Horn. The derby will consist of three rounds starting with eight participants from each league. Each participant will have three minutes to hit as many home runs as possible. The final 30 seconds will consist of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Money Ball. For every money ball hit for a home run, the El Paso Chihuahuas Foundation will donate $150 up to $5,000 benefitting RMHC.
Fans who attend the derby will be given a free rally towel that will correspond to a derby participant. Each section of the ballpark will be color-coded to correspond with a player. Fans are encouraged to cheer for the respective player that match the section color. The ballpark will be sectioned into eight different colored sections.
YouTube sensation and aspiring "beisbol" instructor, Domingo Ayala, will bring his "Theory of Beisbol" to El Paso for the Jarritos Home Run Derby and 600 ESPN El Paso will broadcast the event.
Gates for the 2019 RMHC Triple-A All-Star Game will open at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. The Minor League Baseball Premier event features the best players in Triple-A baseball. The game is slated to air on the MLB Network and Chihuahuas All-Star broadcaster Tim Hagerty will call the game on 600 ESPN El Paso.
