Chiefs Rained out Sunday

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Peoria Chiefs and Cedar Rapids Kernels were postponed by rain on Sunday afternoon and the game will be made up as part of a doubleheader starting at 12:05 p.m. on Monday.

The rains came while the teams were warming up in the outfield and the tarp was put on the field about 10 minutes before the scheduled 2:05 start. The heavy rains came about 2:15 and the game was officially postponed at 3:45.

Game one on Monday will feature regular Monday starter RH Rob Whitenack (7-6, 5.69) for the Chiefs against Cedar Rapids LH Stephen Locke (4-2, 2.58). Game two will feature Chiefs' RH Frank Batista (1-1, 3.92) in his first career start against Kernels RH Fabio Martinez (5-2, 4.06). Both games will be seven innings.
