Chiefs Can't Find Offense in Kennewick, Blanked 4-0 by Americans

Spokane Chiefs News Release

Kennewick, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs couldn't generate any offense on the road against the rival Tri-City Americans Saturday night, dropping their fifth-straight game 4-0.

The first period was a goalie battle, with Spokane's Mason Beaupit and Tri-City's Tomas Suchanek turning aside 12 and 10 shots, respectively.

Beaupit entered the game fresh off of helping lead Team White to a 3-1 victory in the Kubota CHL / NHL Top Prospects Game in Kitchener, Ontario Wednesday, where he played just over half the game and stopped all 16 shots he faced.

The Americans got things going five minutes into the second period, when Samuel Huo netted his 27th goal of the year.

Tri-City held onto the 1-0 lead all the way through the middle frame and into the final break.

The third period was completely in the Americans' favor, as Huo added another at 2:35 and Sasha Mutala found the twin for back-to-back goals at 8:50 and 18:15 to seal the deal at 4-0. Related Links
