
Americans Shut out Chiefs 4-0

Tomas Suchanek earned his first WHL shutout tonight as the Americans blanked the Chiefs 4-0 at the Toyota Center.
After a scoreless first period, Sam Huo opened scoring 4:58 into the second frame as he tapped in a rebound off a shot from Chase Friedt-Mohr. Tri-City's lead held at 1-0 into the third period. Huo extended the lead to 2-0 early into the final frame. The goal was almost identical to the first as Huo scored off a rebound from Friedt-Mohr.
Six minutes later Sasha Mutala followed with a goal, assisted by Connor Bouchard and Sam Huo, to extend Tri-City's lead to 3-0.
The Americans killed off six penalties tonight to hold the Chiefs scoreless.
While killing off a double minor in the final minutes of the game, Sasha Mutala added a short-handed empty net goal to seal the 4-0 victory for the Americans.
Suchanek turned aside an impressive 38 shots from Spokane.
