Chiefs Announce Roster Moves

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today four changes to their roster that will be in effect for tonight's game against the Trenton Devils.

The following transactions have been completed; right wing Ryan Menei has been traded to the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for center Matthew Myers and future considerations, goalie John Murray has been loaned to the Chiefs by the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose, goalie Shane Connelly has been released, and defenseman R.J. Anderson has been sent to Elmira as completion of the future considerations that were a part of the Chanse Fitzpatrick/Jarrett Konkle trade.

Myers, 25, is in his seventh season of professional hockey. A native of Cardiff, Wales Myers has 348 games of professional experience primarily with the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL in Great Britain. He had his best season as a pro last season with Nottingham posting 45 points (13G, 32A) in 51 games. In six games with Bakersfield this season Myers has notched three points (1G, 2A).

Murray, 22, hails from Lancaster, PA and has earned a nod as a National Conference All-Star goalie (2009) and won ECHL Goalie of the Week honors twice (3/17-3/23/08, 2-0-0, one shutout, 0.50 GAA,.985 SVP & 11/24-11/30/09, 1.62 GAA,.942 SVP) for the Reading Royals and Ontario Reign respectively. Murray boasts a professional record of 16-13-4, and made his AHL debut with the Syracuse Crunch last season with 11 saves in relief work. Murray has been an all-star at every level he has played at including with Sioux Falls (USHL - 2006) and Kitchener (OHL - 2007). For the 2006-07 season, notched second-highest win total in Rangers' history with 40.

Both Myers and Murray are expected to be in uniform when the Chiefs take on the Trenton Devils tonight at 7:05 p.m.
