Stingrays Make Multiple Roster Moves

North Charleston, SC - The Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays announced today that defenseman Josh Godfrey has been recalled to Hershey and forward Nikita Kashirsky has been called up by Springfield of the AHL. The Stingrays have also signed defenseman Scott Romfo. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Godfrey, 21, played in 24 games this season for the Stingrays earning four goals and ten assists for 14 points. The Collingwood, ONT native appeared in 37 regular season games last season for the Stingrays registering 25 points (5g, 20a).

Kashirsky, 24, netted 17 goals and 13 assists in 33 games this season for the Stingrays. The rookie from Moscow, Russia currently ranks tenth overall in the ECHL with 30 points.

Romfo, 28, rejoins the Stingrays after appearing in 63 regular-season games last season scoring eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points. The Blaine, MN native also appeared in 21 playoff games earning four points (4a) as the Stingrays went on to claim their ECHL-record third Kelly Cup. Prior to arriving in South Carolina, Romfo played in 30 games for the Cardiff Devils of the EIHL this season knocking in three goals and eleven assists for 14 points. Romfo will wear jersey #25 tonight against Gwinnett.
