Chicago Dogs News Release

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Dogs first baseman and former White Sox first-round draft pick Keon Barnum hit his 31st home run of the season tonight against the St. Paul Saints, breaking the American Association's single-season home run record.

Barnum's blast, a solo homer, came in the fourth inning off of Jordan Jess. The home run broke C.J. Ziegler's mark of 30, which he set as a member of the Wichita Wingnuts in 2013. Barnum broke the record in the Dogs' 99th game of the season.

The video of Barnum's record-breaking home run is available at bit.ly/BarnumHR.

Barnum, a 2012 first-round MLB Draft selection of the Chicago White Sox, leads all Dogs players in home runs, RBI (89), total hits (114), walks (51), extra-base hits (58), slugging percentage (.637) and OPS (1.034). In addition to leading the American Association with 31 homers, Barnum also paces the league in slugging percentage, OPS and total bases.

The Chicago Dogs are 59-39 on the season and play their final game of the season tomorrow, September 2nd, at Impact Field.
