
Checkers Announce Fan Appreciation Day Details

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today the details of Fan Appreciation Day, in conjunction with the first ever AHL/NBA doubleheader, when the team hosts the Abbotsford Heat at Time Warner Cable Arena on Saturday, April 7 at noon.
Highlighting the game's promotions will be giveaways and prizes, including signed memorabilia, merchandise, fan experiences and donated items from the team's corporate sponsors.
The festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena's Trade St. Plaza and will include games, the Checkers Slap Shot inflatable and appearances by Chubby and the CheckMates.
Beginning Friday, and leading up to the game, the Checkers will reward a Twitter and Facebook follower each day with a special prize (details at www.gocheckers.com) and fans are encouraged to send pictures of themselves in Checkers gear to socialnet@gocheckers.com for inclusion on the video board during the game.
As an added bonus for the weekend, the first 2,000 fans through the door at the Sunday, April 8 game will get an Easter egg, of which 24 "golden eggs" will contain grand prizes. Included in the prize list are two (2) iPod Shuffles, four (4) $25 gift cards to the Bears Den merchandise store, autographed team memorabilia and more.
The Checkers will travel to Grand Rapids and Peoria this weekend before returning home Tuesday, April 3 to host the Milwaukee Admirals in the first of a four-game home stand. For a full list of promotions and information, please visit www.gocheckers.com.
