Charlotte FC Academy Player Trains with Bayern Munich
July 19, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Charlotte FC News Release
Charlotte FC Academy winger Nimfasha Berchimas, who is progressing through the ranks of the Academy, having been with the club since its inception in 2020, was invited by German giant, Bayern Munich, for a training experience with their academy from July 9 - 18.
He was recently a part of the United States U-15 National Team that participated in the Torneo Delle Nazioni tournament where they played against Slovenia, Belgium, and Italy.
Berchimas had the opportunity to further his development in a sanctioned visit to Munich. Executive Academy Director, Bryan Scales, helped oversee the process and accompanied Berchimas on the trip.
"We had a very open and professional dialogue with FC Bayern in order to approve this training experience. My interaction with the FC Bayern staff throughout Nimfa's visit was very good. They were very accommodating."
Training with some of the best players around the world in his age group at a historic club like Bayern is an invaluable experience for a young player such as Berchimas.
"This was a great experience for Nimfasha, both on and off the field, at one of the world's biggest clubs."
Eligible to play for Charlotte FC's U15 and U17 teams, Berchimas will continue his development in the 2022-2023 MLS NEXT season starting next month.
"Nimfa has had some really valuable domestic (MLS NEXT) and international (US YNT camps, GA Cup) experiences this year. He continues to make steady progress here in our academy with his best football still ahead of him going into the '22-23 season."
