(Charleston, WV) - The Charleston Riverdogs clinched the series victory over the West Virginia Power with a 6-0 triumph in game two of the three game set. Power starter Bret Helton allowed just one run over six innings in the loss.

Charleston jumped out to an early lead in the first. After Kyle Holder led off with a double, Connor Spencer hit an RBI single to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead.

That was the only run allowed by Helton (1-4) over six innings. The right-hander struck out a season high six and allowed just three base runners after the first.

After scoring a run in the seventh, Charleston blew the game open in the eighth, with four runs on two hits, highlighted by a bases clearing double from Eduardo Navas to give them a 6-0 advantage.

The Power were limited to just one hit, which came an infield single by Ryan Nagle in the fifth. Luis Cedeno (1-1) picked up the win, shutting out the Power in his six innings over work. Nestor Cortes did not allow a hit over the final three frames to pick up his first save of the season.

The Power attempt to avoid the sweep in the final game of the series Wednesday night. Right-hander Dario Agrazal starts for the Power, opposed by Charleston right-hander Cody Carroll. First pitch is at 6:45 P.M at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park.
