BOWIE, Md. - Bowie Baysox catcher Martin Cervenka was named Minor League Player of the month for July by the Baltimore Orioles, marking the first time that Cervenka has earned the honor this season.

Playing in his first season with the organization after being claimed off waivers during the offseason, Cervenka enjoyed a red-hot July by batting .364 (24-for-66) with seven home runs and 25 RBI over 20 games this past month.

The totals for average, home runs and RBI shatter Cervenka's previous highs from any of the first three months. July started off on the right foot for the Prague, Czech Republic, native when he launched two home runs and drove in four runs July 1 at Erie to lead Bowie to a 12-10 win over the SeaWolves.

The Bowie Baysox 2018 season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union. Baysox single game tickets are available online at baysox.com, via phone at 301-464-4865 or in person at the stadium ticket office.
