WESTERN SWING CONTINUES : The Portland Sea Dogs and Erie SeaWolves (Tigers affiliate) wrap-up a three-game series with a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon...Portland is in a stretch of 12 straight games against the Western Division...The 'Dogs are 12-11 against the West, Erie is 27-26 against the Eastern Division...Lefty Matt Kent (6-7, 3.44) makes his 21st appearance (17th start) of the season for Portland...Righty Spencer Turnbull makes his 15th start of the year for Erie.
RALLY FALLS SHORT : Portland batted around in the ninth inning, scoring four times but Erie held on for a 7-6 win on Tuesday night...Danny Mars gave the 'Dogs an early lead with a two-run double in the second...Erie scored all seven runs in the final two innings, including five off Teddy Stankiewicz (6-9) in the seventh...Chad Sedio gave Erie the lead for good with a grand slam...Deiner Lopez struckout with the bases loaded in the ninth to end the game.
