SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The River Cats clubbed two home runs-including a ninth-inning shot from Stephen Vogt-but it wasn't enough as they ultimately lost to the Salt Lake Bees on Sunday afternoon at Spring Mobile Ballpark, 9-7.

Michael Taylor hit the ground running in Sunday's contest, swatting a three-run home run in the top of the first inning, staking Sacramento to an early lead. Salt Lake responded with a run of its own in the bottom half, but Sacramento improved their advantage to 5-1 with a two-run fourth inning.

The Bees pushed two across in the fourth, then took a 6-5 lead with a three-run sixth inning. After tacking on three more in the eighth, the Bees allowed Vogt's two-run home run in the top of the ninth. That would be it for the River Cats, however, as they ultimately fell to the Bees, 9-7.

Vogt finished 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, a walk and his 12th home run of the season, giving him 11 RBI in the series. Taylor went 1-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI, while catcher Ryan Ortiz went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a his fifth double. Hiro Nakajima went 1-for-4, improving his team-season-high-tying hitting streak to 13 games.

Lefty Pedro Figueroa was charged with a blown save and the loss for the Cats, giving up two runs on three hits in two innings of work. Starter Arnold Leon took a no-decision, yielding four earned on five hits and one walk in five innings, moving his ERA to 4.88 on the year.

The win was awarded to veteran Barry Enright, who improves to 5-5 on the year after giving up five earned runs on six hits and two walks in six innings. Five Bees collected two hits apiece, led by Australia-native Trent Oeltjen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBI.

Sacramento returns home for a four-game set against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Throwback Monday presented by Cache Creek to begin a homestand that will feature Bark in the Ballpark, Country Night, Miller Lite Thirsty Thursday and Toyota Family Value Tuesday. A River Cats starter who is to-be-determined will start opposite Sky Sox righty Cory Riordan (4-2, 6.00 ERA) at 7:05 p.m. on Monday night at Raley Field.
