Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

Albuquerque, NM - Yordano Ventura was solid through five innings and Anthony Seratelli homered to lift Omaha to a 4-2 victory over Albuquerque Saturday night in front of better than 13,000 at Isotopes Park. The Storm Chasers improved to 46-54 and moved to within 2 1/2 games of Iowa and Memphis in the American Conference North Division. Omaha clinched the 16-game season series with the Isotopes by notching a ninth win in 15 tries, including five out of seven on the road.

After both teams missed out on good scoring opportunities in the first inning, Omaha broke through in the second to take the lead for good. Pedro Ciriaco singled and moved to third base on a base hit by Paulo Orlando, who then stole second base. Quintin Berry's fly ball scored Ciriaco and pushed Orlando to third from where he scored on a Willy Taveras base hit to make it 2-0. The visitors added a run in the third without a hit as Christian Colon and Seratelli drew one-out walks and pulled off a double steal in front of Max Ramirez, who grounded out to third to push Colon across the plate.

Seratelli crushed a solo home run, his ninth of the season and first as a right-hand hitter, in the fifth to increase the Omaha advantage to 4-1. Ventura left with that same three-run lead after he yielded six hits, walked two and struck out five to earn his third win. Will Smith took over and was absolutely dominant in retiring all nine batters he faced, including five strikeouts and three ground outs. Donnie Joseph came on in the ninth and surrendered a solo home run to Chili Buss that accounted for the final margin. The left-hander recorded his fourth save of the season and registered the final pair of the visitors 12 strikeouts on the night.

The series concludes Sunday evening with Omaha southpaw Chris Dwyer getting the starting nod against Albuquerque right-hander Angel Castro. Coverage of the game gets underway at 6:45 pm and can be heard locally on 1180 Zone 2 The Deuce and online at omahastormchasers.com.
