
Colorado Springs wins over Tucson

Jose Gonzalez drove in three of the Colorado Springs six runs Saturday in the Sky Sox 6-2 win over the Tucson Padres at Kino Stadium.
Charlie Culberson led off the game with an opposite field double and later scored on Ryan Wheeler's sacrifice fly to give the Sky Sox a 1-0 lead. The Padres have allowed at least one run in the first inning their last four games. Gonzalez's two-out RBI triple in the second extended Colorado Springs advantage to two runs. Tucson jumped on the board in the fourth on Ben Francisco's RBI double off the left-center field wall. The Sky Sox answered in the top of the fifth with an RBI double from Culberson.
Eddy Rodriguez closed the gap back to one run in the bottom of the fifth by smashing a solo home run into the left field bullpen. Colorado Springs once again responded in the sixth with an RBI single from Gonzalez. Hernan Iribarren's RBI single in the seventh pushed the Sky Sox lead to 5-2. Gonzalez produced his third RBI of the game in the eighth with a sacrifice fly to center.
Collin McHugh earned his fourth win of the season after going six innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out six. Robbie Erlin was charged with the loss for Tucson after surrendering three runs on five hits. Dean Anna went 3-for-5 for his 37th multi-hit game of the year.
