Castro Rejoins Lynx Roster

OTTAWA - LHP Fabio Castro has been added to the Lynx roster. He was optioned to the Lynx from Philadelphia Friday and will report to the Lynx today. The Lynx made room on the roster with the transfer of RHP Bubba Nelson and IF Carlos Leon to Double-A Reading.

Castro, 22, is 5-5 with a 3.76 ERA in 20 games with the Lynx, including six starts. He also has no record with a 6.63 ERA in six games in the Major Leagues, including his start Thursday against Los Angeles. Castro also played 11 games with Double-A Reading. He was 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA out of the R-Phils bullpen.

Nelson, 25, was 3-7 with a 5.19 ERA in 12 games in the Lynx rotation. With Reading, Nelson was 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA and one save in 20 games, including three starts.

Leon, 27, has appeared in 76 games with the Lynx this season, compiling a .217 batting average with no home runs and 13 runs batted in.

Lynx Head Towards History: Last night's win in Syracuse was the 999th regular-season win in Lynx history. They have two games in Scranton against the Yankees tonight and tomorrow night before heading home for the final six games of the season. Gary Burnham currently sits at 81 RBI on the season, four short of the team single-season record, set in 1994 by Shane Andrews.
