Cassivi named Provident Bank Mighty Ducks Player of the Month for February

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati goaltender Frederic Cassivi, who went 7-1-0 with a 1.54 goals-against average, three shutouts and .949 save percentage in eight games, was named Provident Bank Mighty Ducks Player of the Month for February.

For the month, Cassivi played 467 minutes, allowed only 12 goals and stopped 222 of the 234 shots he faced. The 29-year-old native of Sorel, Quebec stopped 30 shots or more in five games, including a season-high 39 in a 3-0 win February 19 against Grand Rapids. He posted a franchise-record shutout sequence of 189:39 February 11-25, while his seven wins and three shutouts matched the club record for one month.

Cassivi has appeared in 32 games with Cincinnati this season, going 16-14-1 with a 2.28 goals-against average and .920 save percentage. He has six shutouts, matching the franchise record set by Ilya Bryzgalov last season.

In recognition of his achievement, Cassivi will be presented with a plaque from Provident Bank prior to an upcoming Mighty Ducks home game.
