On The Ice:
The Rochester Americans (41-10-3-5, 90 points) will have a busy weekend. The Amerks improved to 33-4-0-4 since Nov. 27. Before hitting the road to Manitoba, the Amerks will look for their 17 straight win on home ice. On Sunday night, the Amerks defeated the Syracuse Crunch 4-2 to break the previous mark. The Amerks are now 10 points ahead of the Manchester Monarchs (37-14-3-3, 80 points) for the AHL points lead.

The Amerks will look to continue their home winning streak against the team that it began against, the Edmonton Road Runners (26-19-4-7, 63 points). The Amerks defeated the Road Runners 2-0 at HSBC Arena on December 28th. The Amerks are 2-1-1 against Edmonton this season. The ‘Runners are led offensively by AHL All-Star Tony Salmelainen with 34 points (16+18). The team is 0-4-1-2 in their last seven games. Edmonton is second in the AHL in the penalty-killing department with an 88.3% success rate (264 for 299).

The Amerks will travel North to play two games against the Manitoba Moose (34-16-1-3, 75 points). The Amerks have a 15-point lead on the Moose for the top spot in the North Division. The Moose are 16-9-0-3 at home this season. The Moose are 2-0-0 against Rochester this season, and have outscored the Amerks 10-4. Lee Goren (3+2) and Peter Sarno (2+3) each have five points to lead the Moose in the season series. The Moose are seventh in the AHL offensively, averaging 3.04 goals-per game.

Around the Boards:
· The Amerks are 14th in the AHL on the power play with a 15.4% success rate (48 for 311). The team has the fifth best penalty-killing unit with an 88.1 percentage (251 for 285). The team is also second in the AHL defensively, allowing 2.17 goals-per game.
· Goaltender Ryan Miller leads all AHL goaltenders in wins (33), minutes played (2847:46), saves (1350) and is tied for first in shutouts (7). Miller is 10th with a 2.11 goals-against average.
· Forward Chris Taylor has moved up the Amerks history books over the past few weeks. Taylor is now 13th on the all-time points list with 307 and is ninth on the all-time assist list with 209. Taylor also is 19th on the all-time goal-scoring list with 98. He is three goals behind Head Coach Randy Cunneyworth (101) for 18th spot.

Upcoming Promotions:

Hall of Fame Night on March 18th: The Rochester Americans annual Amerks Hall of Fame Night will be held on Friday, March 18th. Prior to the Rochester-Albany River Rats 7:35 p.m. contest, the franchise will induct former defenseman Don McSween into the prestigious club. The game is sponsored by Advance Auto Parts. Please note that the ceremony was originally slated for Saturday, February 5th, but was moved to accommodate McSween's schedule. McSween played five seasons in Rochester and collected the most points ever by a defenseman with 215 (45+170). He was the anchor of the Rochester defense from 1987-1992 and his name still appears on the Amerks' all-time lists for games played (17th - 348) and assists (18th - 170). In his postseason career with Rochester, he is tied for sixth in games played (54), is 10th in assists (22) and is tied for 12th in points (32). During the 1989-90 season, he was named an AHL First Team All-Star as he recorded a career-high 16 goals and 59 points in 70 games.
