Zebulon, NC --- Kyle McCulloch pitched seven strong innings to lead the Carolina Mudcats to a 4-2 victory over the Jacksonville Suns in the series finale on Saturday night.

For the second straight game, newly-acquired Bill Rhinehart drove in two, this time with a two-run homer in the fourth to swap the Mudcats (16-19) into a 3-2 lead. From there, McCulloch (W, 5-5) shut down the Suns (16-19) over his final five innings.

McCulloch permitted two runs in the second on a triple by former NC State outfielder Jeremy Synan, but allowed just one more hit the rest of his outing. McCulloch, who won for the third time in four starts, fanned two and allowed three hits.

Carolina finished its homestand 2-4 and embarks on its longest road trip remaining in the regular season, a 10-gamer which begins in Huntsville on Sunday night. Justin Lehr (0-1, 4.97) will be activated from the Triple-A disabled list in time to make the start at 8:03 PM ET.
