TODAY'S GAME: The Generals look againt to win their first series in 9 chances in the rubber game of the 5-game set tonight against the Lookouts. Jackson is 4-3 in rubber games this season. The last time Jackson won a series was back on June 4-8 at Smokies Park against the Smokies.

JACKSON GENERALS RECAP: - Johermyn Chavez scored on a wild pitch thrown by Josh Wall in the top of the ninth inning and the Generals won game four against Chattanooga Friday night at AT&T Field, 4-3. The win forces the rubber game of the series Saturday with the series evened at 2-2. Jackson is 16-14 in one-run games this season. The Generals lead the season series, 8-7.The Generals bullpen blanked the Lookouts over the final five innings of the game. The starter, Steven Hensley lasted just four innings and surrendered three runs on four hits, striking out five and walking four for the no decision. Edward Parades took over in the fifth and tossed three scoreless innings and Stephen Pryor (1-1) earned the win by pitching a scoreless eighth and ninth. Josh Wall (4-5) was saddled with the loss for Chattanooga after giving up a run on three hits in two innings of relief. Carlos Triunfel matched a season best with three hits Friday, going 3-for-4. Jesus Sucre was 2-for-3, blasting his first homer of the season and driving in two runs, Sucre is batting .385 since joining the Jackson Generals on July 19th. Griff Erickson provided Chattanooga's only two-hit game going 2-for-2 with a walk and RBI.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE: Carlos Triunfel has hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games, batting .364 (20x55) with 7 runs scored, 1 home run and 5 RBI. Vinnie Catricala has recorded multi-hits in each of his last 6 of his last 7 games, batting .452 (14x31) with 7 runs scored, 5 doubles and 4 RBI. Scott Savastano has hit safely in 6 of his last 8 games, batting .394 (13x33) with 2 runs, 5 doubles, 1 home run and 7 RBI. Rich Poythress has recorded 10 hits in his last 18 at-bats (.556) with 1 run, 4 doubles and 2 RBI.

TODAY'S STARTER: RHP Andrew Carraway who was scratched yesterday makes his 15th start of the season tonight in game 4 against Chattanooga. In 2 games against the Lookouts Andrew is 1-0, with a 2.79 ERA in 9.1 innings. Carraway ranks 6th in the league with a 3.38 ERA this season and is 2nd in WHIP at 1.07, also ranking 4th in opponents batting average at .230.

M'S MAKE DEAL WITH TIGERS: Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced the club has acquired left-handed pitcher Charlie Furbush, third baseman Francisco Martinez, outfielder Casper Wells and a player to be named later from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for right-handed pitchers Doug Fister and David Pauley. Furbush and Wells will join the Mariners 25-man roster and will be active for Sunday's series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays (1:10 p.m. PT). Martinez will report to the Jackson Generals.

TODAY IN BASEBALL HISTORY: 1978 - The Expos crush the Braves, 19-0, collecting twenty-eight hits and a National League record-tying eight home runs. Andre Dawson, Larry Parrish, Dave Cash, and Dawson again homer in the fourth inning; The fifty-eight bases break an 85-year-old record held by the Reds. 1990 - George Steinbrenner was forced to resign as general partner of the New York Yankees by baseball commissioner Fay Vincent.
