Lindblom Promoted to LA

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Yesterday, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that RHP Josh Lindblom has been promoted from Chattanooga to Los Angeles. This marks Lindblom's second tour with the Dodgers this season.

Lindblom, who has served primarily as the Lookouts' closer this season, is currently third in the Southern League in saves with 16. The big righty has posted a 1-3 record to go with a 2.18 ERA on the season. In 42.1 innings, he has struck out 51 opposing batters, while yielding 30 hits and 14 walks. Additionally, he has not yielded a run in 15 out of his last 17 appearances for the Lookouts.

In his previous stint with the Dodgers, which spanned from May 29th to June 18th, he posted a 1.69 ERA in eight relief appearances.

The former second-round pick of the 2008 First-Year Play Draft out of Purdue University first pitched for the Lookouts in 2009, mainly as a starter, before being promoted to Albuquerque. Last season, he split time between the bullpen and as a starter for Albuquerque, where he finished the season 3-2 with a 6.54 ERA. In June of last season, he made the full transition to becoming a relief pitcher.

Lindblom, 24, entered the season ranked as the Dodgers' 16th best prospect per Baseball America.
