Huntsville Stars News Release

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Milwaukee Brewers have made a pair of roster moves that will impact their Double-A affiliate Huntsville Stars prior to tonight's series finale at Birmingham. Outfielder Erik Komatsu has been traded to the Washington Nationals in exchange for Jerry Hairston, Jr. Additionally, infielder Andy Machado has been activated from the disabled list.

Komatsu was batting .294 (94-320) in 93 games with the Stars. He's hit 26 extra-base hits and 40 RBI. He's drawn 53 walks, the fifth most in the Southern League, and struck out 44 times. The outfielder is also fifth in the Southern League in on-base percentage at .393. He was named the Brewers' Minor League Player of the Year in 2010, hitting .323 (157-486) with 31 doubles and 63 RBI.

Machado was placed on the DL back on June 10 after starting the season in Triple-A Nashville. He spent most of the 2010 season with the Stars.

With these moves, the Stars active roster stays at 24 with three on the DL.

The Stars continue their five-game road trip to Birmingham tonight at 6:30. RHP Cody Scarpetta (6-5, 4.28 ERA) will take the mound for the Stars against the Barons' LHP Justin Edwards (3-4, 4.53 ERA).
