OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - The Texas Legends (4-2) took the 2-1 lead on the season series with the Oklahoma City Blue (3-4) with a 110-107 overtime victory Friday night in OKC. Carlik Jones led the overtime push, powering out all 6 of the Legends' points in the extra two minutes.
Both teams got off to slow start, going back and forth in the first. Shooting 25%, the Legends found themselves down 17-21 at the end of the quarter. The tides turned in the second when they knocked down 67% outside and overall for a 42-point second quarter to go up 59-51 at the half. The Blue stayed within reach, but Texas held the lead until a Theo Maledon buzzer-beating three sent the game to overtime.
Jones took control in the extra minutes and knocked down his final two free throws to finish a second overtime game victorious.
Jones ended the night with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Feron Hunt matched the team-high 24 and added 9 rebounds. Justin Jackson added 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, and DeJon Jarreau rounded out the double-digits with 11 points, 6 rebounds. Loudon Love grabbed a game-high 13 boards to go with 8 points, 2 steals.
Theo Maledon led all scorers with 26 points, 5 assists. D.J. Wilson came off the bench for 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.
