West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
LANSING, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps jumped out to an early lead and edged the Lansing Lugnuts by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday at Cooley Law School Stadium.
One day after the Whitecaps and Lugnuts hurried to a 1-0 Lansing victory in just one hour and 54 minutes, the two teams played at a measured pace on Tuesday. West Michigan opened the scoring in the second when Avery Tuck delivered an RBI-single to give the "Caps a 1-0 lead. Lansing responded when Reggie Pruitt tied the game with an RBI-double in the bottom of the frame. In the third, Jordan Pearce launched a two-run homer to give West Michigan a 3-1 lead. The "Caps continued their hot-hitting in the fourth, scoring four times featuring run-scoring singles by Pearce and Parker Meadows - who tallied his first RBI with the club on the play.
