Madison Capitols News Release

Madison, WI- The Madison Capitols (23-25-11) will conclude their season on Saturday as they welcome the Muskegon Lumberjacks (35-20-4) to the Alliant Energy Center for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

The Capitols gave the playoff-bound Lumberjacks a scare on Friday, cutting a 5-1 Muskegon lead down to 5-4 in the game's final period before the Lumberjacks tallied a late power play goal to survive, 6-4.

Haralds Egle, Daniel Willett, and Charlie Gerard scored in a 6:10 span in the final period to nearly complete Madison's biggest comeback of the season. Egle pulled himself into a tie with Freddy Gerard for team leadership in goals with 18, while Charlie Gerard picked up his 15th of the season, picking up a goal in his third straight game in the process.

Ryan Edquist made his USHL between the pipes for Madison, but the University of Minnesota commit was relieved by Garrett Metcalf after Muskegon picked up a pair of goals in the opening two periods.

Griffen Molino, Matej Paulovic, and Christian Wolanin each had a goal and two assists for the Lumberjacks in the victory. Wolanin's slap shot goal in the third turned out to be the game-winner.

Saturday marks the season finale at the Alliant Energy Center for the Capitols. There will be a silent auction on the Capitols' blue jerseys following the game.

Capitols' 2015-16 season tickets and 12-game packages for next season are available now by visiting www.MadCapsHockey.com . Fans who pay in full for season tickets by June 1 will receive a specialty season ticket holder jersey. Packages can also be purchased by calling (608) 257-CAPS (2277).
