USHL Eastern Conference Semifinals Set for 2015 USHL Clark Cup Playoffs
Published on April 11, 2015 under United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release
Chicago, IL - The four participants for the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the 2015 USHL Clark Cup Playoffs had already been set, but it took until the end of the last night of the regular season to finalize the seeding.
The Youngstown Phantoms secured the top overall seed earlier in the week and then capped their Anderson Cup-winning season by earning their 40th win on Saturday. They will meet the fourth seed Muskegon Lumberjacks in a best-of-five series. The Lumberjacks won a team record 35 games this season to earn a playoff berth for their third time in their five-year USHL history.
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders won their regular season finale to make it 39 wins for the season and move up to the second seed. They will meet the Dubuque Fighting Saints who qualified for the playoffs for their fifth consecutive year and hold the three seed. It marks a rematch from last year's Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Both higher seeds have elected the option to start their best-of-five series on the road. Cedar Rapids visits Dubuque to open their series on Tuesday while Youngstown visits Muskegon for Game One on Wednesday.
