Capitals Recall Zach Sill from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Zach Sill from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Sill, 27, has registered four points (one goal, three assists) and 96 penalty minutes in 83 career NHL games with Pittsburgh and Toronto. The 6'1", 202-pound forward earned his first NHL point with an assist on Jan. 13 against Minnesota and scored his first NHL goal on Jan. 21 against Chicago. Sill made his NHL debut on Nov. 16, 2013, at New Jersey. He was signed by Washington as a free agent on July 16, 2015.

Sill earned nine points (two goals, seven assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 30 games with Hershey (AHL) this season. The Truro, Nova Scotia, native served as an alternate captain for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) in 2013-14 and helped lead the team to the Eastern Conference Final in the 2014 Calder Cup playoffs. In 2010-11, Sill recorded AHL career highs in games played (80), goals (11), assists (19), points (30) and plus/minus (+16). Sill has tallied 82 points (35 goals, 47 assists) and 345 penalty minutes in 307 AHL games with Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
