'Canes Reassign Six to Albany

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned six players to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL). Forwards Drayson Bowman, Zach Boychuk and Jerome Samson, as well as defensemen Casey Borer, Jamie McBain and Bryan Rodney, will join the River Rats for the AHL's Calder Cup Playoffs.

Albany enters the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs as the East Division's second seed. The River Rats will play Game 1 of their best-of-seven, first-round playoff series on Wednesday on home ice at the Times Union Center against a to-be-determined opponent.
