Canaries To Host Father's Day 5K Race

SIOUX FALLS, SD (June 4, 2008) - The Sioux Falls Canaries' third annual charity 5K Run will take place on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15th at the Birdcage. The event, presented by Caribou Coffee, will benefit the Children's Miracle Network and Sanford Children's Hospital.

The front gates of the stadium will serve as the starting line with the race winding its way through the neighboring streets. The start gun fires promptly at 9:00 a.m.

"Our 5K run has seen a growing turnout over the past couple of years, and we hope that this will be our biggest run yet," said Canaries President John Kuhn. "We love to do events where we can give back to the community and thanks to the good folks at Caribou Coffee we are able to help CMN and Sanford Children's Hospital with this event."

For the $25.00 entry fee, runners will receive:

- Special Event T-Shirt

- Ticket Voucher Good For Any Canaries Game June 17-19

- $5.00 Donation to Children's Miracle Network and Sanford Children's Hospital.

There will also be a special FREE children's fun run and runners are encouraged to bring their children to the event. For the competitive runners, the winners of six different age brackets (male and female) will receive awards.

Interested runners may pick up registration forms at the Sioux Falls Canaries offices or by calling Mallory Selway at (605) 333-0179. There will be limited registration for the race at the stadium on the day of the event.
