Fort Worth starter Joel Kirsten delivered another stellar performance as he allowed just one hit in a 10-0 rout of Pensacola. Pelicans 3B Cesar Aranguren broke up Kirsten's no-hit bid in the bottom of the eighth on an infield single. Kirsten went the distance and struck out six to improve to 3-1. The Cats' offense gave him plenty to work with early on as they scored six runs in the top of the second inning. John Allen led off the inning with a blast to left field, his fifth round tripper of the year. LF Ed Montague doubled to the gap in left center before 3B Aaron Sisk singled him home. 1B Jake Gautreau doubled down the right field line for a 4-0 Ft. Worth edge. Cory Walters allowed seven runs in just four innings as his record fell to 0-3.

1B Billy Munoz paced the AirHogs offense with a 3-for-4 night at the plate including his second homer of the year as Grand Prairie beat El Paso 4-0. Munoz's blast put Grand Prairie ahead 1-0 in the second inning before two Diablos errors added an unearned run in the fifth. Kieran Mattison permitted just three hits and did not allow a run in seven innings of work. Grand Prairie put the game away with two runs in the home half of the eighth capitalizing on three walks and an RBI single from Munoz. Vinnie DeChristofaro pitched the final two innings and picked up his second save by striking three of the six batters he faced.

Sioux City 8, Shreveport 3

Sioux City broke a 3-3 tie with five runs in the eighth inning as they beat Shreveport 8-3. The Explorers trailed 3-0 after three innings as Shreveport 3B Robert Bratton hit his first homerun of the year with two on and one out. Sioux City put up three of their own in the fourth inning on a combination of two singles, two walks and two wild pitches. Singles by 2B Nick McCoola and RF Luke Hetherington , two more walks and another wild pitch by Shreveport pitching, plus a RBI double by SS Alex Llanos helped Sioux City put the game away in the eighth inning. McCoola finished 3-for-4 and scored twice while 1B Juan Camacho scored twice and drove in three.

St. Paul 4, Lincoln 1

Fresh off a grand slam and five RBI in his last game Saints RF Marcel Longmire showed no signs of slowing down as he belted two homeruns to lead St. Paul past Lincoln 4-1. Starting pitcher Luis Villarreal gave up just one run in seven innings and had the Saltdogs hitters baffled all night as he struck out seven. Longmire opened the scoring in the fourth inning with a solo shot before C Kevin Sullivan doubled to left and scored on an error for a 2-0 Saints advantage. 2B Andrew Bennett singled to open the fifth inning before Longmire left the yard again upping his homerun total to five. Ryan Trytten went 6 2/3 innings for Lincoln but took the loss to fall to 1-2.

Sioux Falls 5, Wichita 1

Travis Kane pitched a brilliant game going 8 2/3 innings and striking out five as he allowed just one run on four hits in a 5-1 victory. Tied 1-1 in the seventh inning, Sioux Falls used doubles by RF Ben Van Iderstine and SS Tim Hutting to grab a 2-1 lead. In the eighth they chased Wingnuts starter Brad Davis from the game on a single by DH Will Smith, an RBI double by 2B Josh Patton, and a two run blast by 1B Patrick Reilly. Smith finished 3-for-4 with a runs scored and a RBI. After two men reached in the top of the ninth closer Kris Regas got the final out to register his eighth save of the year.
