The Shreveport Sports scored once in the top of the first inning and that turned out to be enough as they held on to win by a 1-0 margin in a game that was shortened due to inclement weather. Sports starting pitcher Justin Phillips earned the win, his first of the year, after tossing six shutout innings in which he allowed five hits and struck out five. Shreveport 2B Ron Fenwick led the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 and scoring the game's only run. Sioux City starting pitcher Dusty Bergman was stuck with the tough-luck loss, though he pitched well also. Bergman allowed one run on seven hits and struck out seven in six innings.

Fort Worth 10, Pensacola 4

The Fort Worth Cats pounded the ball en route to an 8-0 lead after two innings and rolled to an easy 10-4 win on the road. The Cats collected 13 hits as a team, led by 1B Jake Gautreau who was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI. Each hitter in the Fort Worth lineup had at least one hit and a total of four collected multi-hit games. Starting pitcher Pedro Flores collected the win for Fort Worth, upping his record to 5-0 on the year. He allowed four runs on five hits and struck out five in six innings of work. The win for Fort Worth vaults them above Pensacola and into first place in the South Division.

El Paso 13, Grand Prairie 2

El Paso scored in bunches on the road to roll to an 13-2 win at Grand Prairie. Diablos SS Bryan Cooksey led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI. El Paso RF Stantrel Smith also had a good game. Although he was just 1-for-5, he scored four runs, homered and drove in two. El Paso starting pitcher David Whigham earned the win to improve to 3-2 on the year. He allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits and struck out five in 6 1/3 innings. Grand Prairie RF Derek Nicholson was 2-for-4 to lead the AirHogs in the losing effort.

Sioux Falls 9, Wichita 7

Hits were easy to come by in this one, as Sioux Falls out-hit Wichita 10-9 and were able to hang on for the win in a game that was back and forth from start to finish. Canaries 2B Grant Richardson was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while LF Beau Torbert was 2-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs. Wichita DH David Gates and 2B Brenan Herrera each homered also in the losing effort.
