
Canadiens Sign Mathieu Carle

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today the signing of defenceman Mathieu Carle and forward J.T. Wyman to one-year, two-way contracts (2010-2011). As per club policy, financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Carle, 22, recorded 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Bulldogs last season, missing 44 games due to injuries. The 6-foot, 203-pound defenceman also played in one playoff game with the âDogs but did not register a point. The native of Gatineau, Quebec was held scoreless in three games with Montreal in 2009-2010, including his first-career National Hockey League game on November 3rd, 2009 against the Atlanta Thrashers at Bell Centre. Carle was drafted by the Canadiens in the 2nd round, 53rd overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Wyman, 24, played in 76 games with Hamilton last season recording 37 points (17 goals 20 assists) and 12 penalty minutes. The native of Edina, Minnesota also produced four points (one goal, three assists) in 19 post-season games with the âDogs. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound right winger was held scoreless in three games with the Canadiens in 2009-2010, including his first-career NHL game on November 24th, 2009 against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Bell Centre. Wyman was drafted in the 4th round, 100th overall by Montreal at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
