Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, today announced they will face 16 different opponents in 2010-11, including matches against the Calder Cup Champion Hershey Bears, Eastern Conference rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and the brand-new Oklahoma City Barons.
The full and complete 2010-11 Manitoba Moose and American Hockey League schedules will be released next month.
The Moose will only face-off against two Eastern Division teams this season, playing four games against the two-time reigning champion Bears and the Penguins.
The Moose will once again face North Division opponents the Abbotsford Heat, the Hamilton Bulldogs, the Rochester Americans and Toronto Marlies eight times each. However, they will only face off against the Grand Rapids Griffins and Lake Erie Monsters, also divisional clubs, for four-game sets. Last season the Moose finished with a 21-13-1-1 record against their North Division opponents.
As usual, the Moose will also play each member of the AHL's West Division which includes the Chicago Wolves, Houston Aeros, Milwaukee Admirals, the new Oklahoma City Barons, Peoria Rivermen, Rockford IceHogs, San Antonio Rampage and Texas Stars.
Along with Oklahoma City, the American Hockey League also welcomes the Charlotte Checkers to the league for their debut season.
The Moose will once again play 80 games this season with 40 games at MTS Centre and 40 games on the road. Fans can get their Manitoba Moose season tickets now by visiting www.moosehockey.com.
